Our History
Deaf Palms Church was established in 2021 by Lori Fuller who is Deaf. Lori received a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in June of 2021. Lori is working with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Florida Bahamas Synod, and St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church in Palm Coast, FL.
Who is God?
In this video, Pastor Lori explains the belief that God is the heart, foundation, and inspiration for everything, and that understanding and recognizing the order and purpose in the world through physics and self-reflection is a form of spirituality. Pastor Lori also emphasizes the idea that God works through individuals with love and support, empowers them and encourages them, and gives them gifts and a purpose.
Who is Jesus?
Here, Pastor Lori explains that Jesus is God in human form and that he came to Earth to teach about God, what God’s love looks like, and to model how our hearts are aligned with God. In the video, it is also emphasized that Jesus’ disciples wanted to be more like him because they were covered in the Spirit of God and were encouraged to act with selfless love, giving, and loving without expecting anything in return. Jesus also teaches us how to treat people that the rest of the world tends to reject and that we should treat everyone with love because God first loved us.
Who Is Holy Spirit?
In this video, we learn that the Holy Spirit is a way to connect with God and to feel God’s presence. It is one way to feel that connection and interaction with God and it empowers Jesus to live, learn, love, and interact with the community. The Holy Spirit is not just an emotional experience but it is a part of us that helps us to become aware of who we are, our purposes, values, and hopes through experiences. Then empowers us to take action and to see ourselves as God sees us.
What Is Faith?
Here, Pastor Lori explains that grace is an overwhelming experience of our connection with God and God’s plan for us. She emphasizes that Grace includes an awareness that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves and that our purpose is to bring joy to the world and maybe to the universe. Pastor Lori also stresses that we can do this when we are able to see and know ourselves as God knows us and that God shared God’s Word with us and now we can share this with the community and others through our words and actions.
What Is Grace?
In this Video, we that grace is the awareness that we have of being part of God’s cosmic plan of bringing joyousness to the world. Grace is what happens when we know ourselves as God knows us and is shared faithfully.
“Penitence”
Here, Pastor Lori explains that Penitence means straying from God and working our way back to God, or disconnecting from God and wanting to reconnect. She emphasizes that Jesus said “The kingdom of God is here. Repent and believe the Good News.” and that the actions we take to reconnect with God are the key that can make an impact and a difference for others. Pastor Lori stresses that when we connect with God, we gain a new perspective and that we can step into what we are learning.
